Waterfront, covered square and shops

Dimensional data: 7,500 sq.mt. site area, 1,600 sq.mt. waterfront, 600 sq.mt. covered square, 4,200 sq.mt. shops

The park is located on Hainan Island, at the site where a large suspension bridge connects two parts of the city of Haikou Haidian, across the estuary of the river. The project proposes a public promenade with shopping facilities, served by a scenic boardwalk with views of the sea, the city and the distant landscape. On the promontory, the boardwalk has three piers on the sea and widens into a covered square with two monumental canopies destined for public events.
All the structures are made of laminated wood: the roofs are covered with shingles, the commercial buildings along the pergola with boards, the promenade is paved with a deck of teak planks.
